This is my first actual post as a Speech Language-Pathologist! Okay, well a CF :)
After long hours of resume writing, applying, searching, and interviewing I FINALLY was hired in July for a job in a school setting for this year! I am working in a program specially for children with Autism in my area. I feel so grateful.
So since the school year has already started I am so extremely overwhelmed it is insane! I have been working every waking moment the past week and a half. But it is getting better every day! There is a lot to take in at a new job, especially when it is your first job!
I almost feel like I am still an intern at times, because that is what I am so used to, so I find myself doing silly things like as soon as my supervisor sends me something that she thinks will be beneficial to me, I read it RIGHT AWAY! And she laughs a little and says, Kristy, you aren't in grad school anymore. I don't expect you to come in and there will be a quiz on it the next day!
So much schooling has us trained in a certain way, which isn't necessarily a bad thing at first! Anyway, just wanted to put in a little beginning note on how excited I am to start my CF and how completely overwhelmed I am! Good luck to all of the school Speechies out there, just starting their school year!
